Excise sleuths seize two truckloads of forest products at Lakhanpur | | | Early Times News Jammu, May 12: Continuing with the efforts to thwart the attempts of tax evaders, the sleuths of Excise Department today detected Forest products being exported out of the state and seized two truck loaded with forest products exported illegal like wowring, majaphal, mushakbala and etc. According to official spokesperson, the attempt of evasion was detected by the active staff of the department when two trucks bearing registration Nos HR55E-4575 and HR55K-7775 were put to physical inspection. "During thorough search of vehicles it came to fore that that the documents depicted that the goods being transported are Dry dates in both the vehicles but actually these were loaded with dry dates and some forest products, official said. He added that the forest products detected during the physical check were wowring, majaphal, mushakbala that were being transported without valid documents and also without the required clearance from the forest department. Spokesperson said that the whole search operation was conducted by the joint team of Excise department under the supervision of Rajesh Sharma Dy Excise Commissioner, Toll Post Lakhanpur and comprising Excise & Taxation Officers Suresh Sharma, Naeem Mugal and Sahil Jandyal besides Inspectors Adarsh Sharma, Amit Sharma, Dheeraj Kumar & Swaran Singh and other ranks. Spokesperson said, " The two vehicles alongwith seized goods will be referred to the Forest department after realizing of penalty under the J & K levy of Tolls Act."
