Channi Himmat Multi Crore land scam

Jammu, May 12: In a significant development in the multi-crore land scam case in Channi Himmat Housing Colony the office of Tehsildar (Bahu), Jammu submitted latest report to the Deputy Commissioner Jammu Ajeet Kumar Sahu.
The reported submitted to DC Jammu Ajeet K Sahu stated that in the site map of Channi Himmat duly prepared by the J&K Housing board a road is shown on either side of Thanger nallah and nowhere there was any mention of any commercial activity on the layout map of the housing colony on the reclaimed land of the Thanger nallah.
In the same report which was submitted to DC Jammu on May 11, 2015 by the Tehsildar (Bahu), Jammu it is clearly stated that nothing was mentioned on the map regarding reclaimed land to be used for commercial purposes.
Tehsildar (Bahu) Jammu submitted the report to the Deputy Commissioner Jammu after personally verifying the layout map of the Channi Himmat housing prepared by the J&K Housing Board and relevant Revenue records.
The report stated the total area of Nallah in village Channi Himmat bearing Khasra no 165 measuring 70 kanals and 3 Marlas and bearing khasra no 247 measuring 51 kanals and 12 Marlas, out of which J&K Housing board has acquired Khasra no 165 measuring 52 kanals and 9 marlas and Khasra no 247 measuring 49 kanals.
In his remarks Tehsildar (Bahu) in this report also submitted if the reclaimed land on either side of the Thanger Nallah is declared as green path it will create an eco-friendly atmosphere for the residents of the housing colony.
It may be mentioned Deputy Commissioner Jammu Ajeet Kumar Sahu had directed Tehsildar (Bahu) to submit status report in the multi crore land scam after residents protested against the brazen loot of green strip of land by the J&K Housing Board when Deputy Chief Minister Dr Nirmal Singh along with senior officers inspected the Channi-Himmat Housing colony was on inspection visit of the area. The locals also had accused J&K Housing Board officials for selling green strip of land for commercial purposes in violation of the Master plan.
