vijaypur, May 12 : The Zonal Level Inter-School Tournament of Vijaypur Zone for Under-14 and Under-17 categories for boys and girls in the disciplines of Kabaddi, Kho-Kho and Volleyball, being organized by the Department of Youth Services and Sports Samba, begins here today. As many as 400 students from different institutions of Zone Vijaypur are participating in the tournament. The competition was declared open by chief guest Dev Anand and guest of honour Romesh Singh Jasrotia in a simple and well attended function. Speaking on the occasion, the chief guest called upon participants to have healthy competition with true spirit of sportsman ship. The tournament was organized under the overall supervision of Vijay Singh Slathia, Zonal Physical Education Officer, Vijaypur. In today's fixtures of Kho-Kho, Kabaddi and Volleyball for Under-14 and Under-17 age groups, the participating schools displayed competitiveness and spirits. In Kho-Kho, the BBN High School defeated Bhargava Public School, Supwal by 8 points in Under-14 category while in Under-17 category, the Parveen Model High School, Supwal beat Government High School, Tarore by 9 points. In Kabaddi (Under-17 Boys), Government High School, Palli defeated Government Higher Secondary School, Rahya by 4 points Parveen Model High School, Supwal beat Government Higher Secondary School, Uttar Vahini by 15 points. In Volley Ball (Under-17 boys) Vaid Higher Secondary School defeated Government High School, Sunjwan by 2-0 while St. Anthony Convent School beat Fouji Public High School, Patti with the similar margin of 2-0. |
