One person killed, 17 goats perish in weather hostilities | | | Early Times Report
Rajouri, May 12: A person reportedly was killed in land slide while 17 goats of a nomad got perished in lightening when it struck in upper reaches of Pir Panjal ranges as the weather once again got changed across the region. Reports said, "Heavy rains coupled with thunder storms and lightening struck Rajouri district today resulting in declining the temperature to 27.7 degree Celsius." "They also said that at about 3.00 pm lightening struck near village Karag under the jurisdiction of Kotranka Police Station, reports said and added, "17 goats/sheep of a Bakerwal (nomad) were killed in the lightening when he was heading toward high pastures in Pir Panjal mountain ranges." "However on getting the information of killing of goats/sheep, the police party from Kotranka Police Station rushed to the spot to perform legal formalities, they said. "Meanwhile one Mohd Amin (45) s/o Hasim Din- father of six daughters reportedly was killed near Jabri pasture when he got trapped in land sliding triggered by heavy rains, local reports said. "The MET has predicted storm, rains during next two days which has also affected the movement of Nomads towards their pastures in Pir Panjal Mountain ranges," reports said. |
