JAMMU, May 12 : Inter-school football tournament (under-14 and under-17 boys) of Jammu district, organised by the Department of Youth Services and Sports (DYSS), started at GGM Science College ground, here today.
The competition was declared open by District Youth Services and Sports Officer, Sukhdev Raj Sharma. Earlier, GD Goenka, Jodhamal Public School, KB School and Heritage Public School won their respective matches.
The Detailed Results: Under-14 yrs. GD Goenka beat KC Gurukul 5-0; Jodhamal Public School beat DPS Jammu via tie breaker 2-1; KB School beat SOS 2-0; Heritage beat APS Sunjawan 3-0.
Meanwhile, the inter-school swimming meet of Jammu district, scheduled to be held at MA Stadium here from today, has been postponed till further orders.
However, it has been reliably learnt that the management of the State Sports Council did not allow the DYSS to hold the event in view of department's failure to get the medical certificates of the participants. |
