Jammu, May 30: Police today arrested a drug peddler and recovered the cache of intoxicant and psychotropic drugs during routine checking in a area falling under Police Station Bakshinagar. A case in this regard stands registered at concerned Police Station. According to the S K S Chouhan, SP City North, Jammu, on specific input, a team led by Sandeep Choudhary, SDPO City West, Jammu and Dalip Singh, Inspector SHO P/S Bakshi Nagar, Jammu arrested by one Amit Gupta S/o Late Sh Charanjeet Lal Gupta of 12 Bharat Nagar Rehari Colony, Jammu and recovered huge cache of strictly prescription drugs i.e. 10 Tablets- Nitrosum, 222- Spasma Proxyvon Capsules, 52- Phenergan injections and 66- Alprazolam 0.5 mg Tablets. "A case FIR No. 54/2015 u/s 8/21/2/NDPS Act stands registered at P/S Bakshi Nagar, Jammu, he said adding that all these prescription drugs are poison for the youth of society as these have harmful effects on human body. SP City North also said that efforts made by Police will go a long way in improving general social health of society. Pertinent to mention that a team of Jammu Police yesterday have first ever biggest haul of intoxicant drugs i.e. 80,000 capsules and tablets with the arrest of four persons while the anti drug/intoxicants drive still is on and more arrests might be made in coming days. |
