After raising Pak flags, Shah seeks release of murder convict | Appears in Lal Chowk, participates in signature campaign | | Early Times Report Srinagar, May 30: A day after separatist, who is the chairman of Democratic Freedom Party (DFP), Shabir Ahmed Shah was arrested by police in south Kashmir's Anantnag town for staging a pro-Pakistan rally and hoisting Pakistan flags, was seen at Lal Chowk,on Saturday taking part in the signature campaign seeking release of a murder convict Muhammad Qasim Faktoo, lodged in Central Jail here. Pertinently, Shabir Shah, was arrested by Police in Anantnag soon after the Ministry of Home Affairs directed the state government to act against him for hoisting Pakistan flag and leading an anti-India rally. Sources said that Shah was released on late Saturday evening despite police claiming that he was booked under unlawful activities act under case FIR No. 147/2015, under sections 341, 121, 147, 120-B RPC and 13 ULA. Shah appearing in Lal Chowk and seeking release of the murder convict Qasim Faktoo, who was awarded life sentence, has once again exposed the soft policy of the state government towards separatists. It's amazing that Shah was not kept behind the bars even for even a night for hoisting Pakistan flag and delivering a hate speech against India. Shah's release has raised serious questions over the state government's policy towards separatists. If Masrat Alam was booked under Public Safety Act (PSA) for raising Pakistan flag, then why was Shah released? Sources said that after participating in the signature campaign to seek Faktoo's release, Shah reiterated that he would continue to fight against New Delhi till Kashmir gets freedom. He even praised Pakistan for providing unrelenting support to Kashmiri separatists. Despite Shah spewing venom against India, he is still roaming scot free and instructions of the Ministry of Home Affairs have been overlooked. He was arrested just for the sake of it and released soon so that he can carry on with his anti-India activities to appease his bosses in Pakistan. |
