Azad's aide receives Lal Singh in Kishtwar | | | Bivek Mathur Early Times Report JAMMU, May 30: The Congress MLA Ghulam Mohammad Saroori, close aide of the former chief minister Ghulam Nabi Azad, receiving Health Minister Chaudary Lal Singh at Kishtwar helipad has not gone well with BJP leaders and the party workers. Pertinently, when Lal Singh left Congress, he blamed Azad for his exit, but Azad's close aide (Saroori) receiving him (Singh) has raised many eyebrows. Early Times has photographs of Lal Singh being received by MLA Inderwal Ghulam Mohammad Saroori at Kishtwar helipad along with Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) leader and Minister for Public Works, Floriculture and Gardens & Parks, Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari. As per sources, both the PDP & BJP leaders reached the district headquarter to attend the wedding reception of the local MLA-Sunil Sharma who is also Minister of State (MoS) in Mufti Mohammad Sayeed's government. Further the marriage of Sunil Sharma is a private function and not an official programme where the warm reception by Saroori was uncalled for. So Saroori has to answer several questions if questioned by the party high command. Now another million dollar question is-how could Saroori receive a person who had alleged the Congress Stalwart and former Union Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad who is leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha had ditched Lal Singh when the later was not given mandate for the Kathua-Udhampur-Doda Parliamentary segment? Has Saroori forgotten the words of Lal Singh during the Lok Sabha polls while addressing a press conference here in Jammu?: "I quit party (Congress) because I am feeling suffocated in the party as Azad has left no stone unturned to plan my ouster from the party. Azad has ditched me, and he ditched me on several occasions, he backstabbed me. Azad gave an impression to the media that he was reluctant to contest Parliament elections from Doda-Udhampura constituency, but under cover, he had given assurance to high command that he would ensure the victory of Congress party on all the three seats of Jammu if party high command will allow him to contest from Doda-Udhampura constituency". As far as Lal Singh is concerned, it would be difficult for him to convey to the BJP High Command and State unit of BJP as why a Congress MLA received him on the helipad and where were the BJP workers? |
