NMC demands regularization of daily rated workers | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, May 30: Emphasizing on the need for immediate amendment of SRO 64, President of the National Mazdoor Conference (NMC) Subash Shastri today appealed to the Chief Minister to formulate comprehensive policy for regularization of all daily rated workers, casual or seasonal laborers, and contractual as well as ad hoc employees engaged in various departments of the State. Talking to media persons here, Shastri said that early amendment in SRO 64 is the need of the hour, which includes near 61000 daily rated workers working in various State Government and public sector undertakings, adding that such an amendment in said SRO should be immediately effected so that new regularization policy becomes operational at the earliest. He said that these daily wagers are facing hardships due to price hike and inflation as their services have not been regularized so far nor they are getting their monthly wages in time. While pleading the cause of the State Government employees and pensioners, Shastri demanded early release of 6% DA due from January last in favour of State Government employees and pensioners, respectively, in view of sharp increase of inflation and price hike. He said that the State Government has already ear-marked funds for the purpose in the current year financial budget stressing that since DA is the part of the salary, hence pending 6% DA installment should be released as early as possible. Expressing his grave concern over the non-enforcement of CP Fund deduction in various Government departments, Shastri demanded strict enforcement of the scheme to protect the interest of working class and also demanded early payment of wages of daily wagers pending for months together. |
