Record placements achieved for engineering students at MIET

JAMMU, May 30 : The placement season for the 2011-2015 batch at MIET recently concluded with record placements achieved across all disciplines. Against a total of 170 students eligible for placement, 175 placement offers from 10 companies were received making it one of the best placement seasons at MIET.
Companies which recruited BE students from MIET included L&T InfoTech (3.5 Laks per annum), Accenture (2.5-3.5 Lakhs per annum), Racebit Info Systems (2.88 Lakhs per annum), Maintec Technologies (2.04 Lakhs per annum), PC Solutions (1.8 Lakhs per annum) with an average package of 2.25 Lakhs per annum. While Accenture selected 82 students on a train and hire model, MainTec Technologies selected 64 students and Racebit selected 27 students to emerge as the largest recruiters for the 2015 batch. CSE department led the placements with 71 placements, followed by 47 for ECE. Information Technology and Electrical Engineering departments had 27 and 12 students placed respectively. In addition, CGI a Canadian company picked up 18 students under Udaan at a prospective package of 2.8 lakhs and over 50 students were recruited by Rooman Technologies, Arees Software, Tata CMC, Prolific and IL&FS under the same process.
Maj Gen (Retd) Prof S.K Sharma attributed the stellar performance of the students to the implementation of the Skill Development Matrix for each student under which specific skills and trainings are provided to students each semester.
Dr Arun Gupta, Chairman MIER, Dr Renu Gupta, Director MIER, Dr Ankur Gupta, Joint Director MIET and Prof SK Sharma, Principal MIET while congratulating the selected students also complemented the MBA Placement Team for their outstanding effort and assured greater support to the department in delivering outstanding value to the current and prospective students of the B.E programme at MIET.
