Court awards one yr imprisonment to PDD Official in corruption case 5/30/2015 11:31:30 PM Early Times Report Srinagar, May 30: Court of Special Judge Anti-Corruption Kashmir Srinagar Yash Paul Borney today convicted Mohammad Subhan Shah then Accounts Officer Electric Commercial Division PDD Basant Bagh Srinagar with imprisonment and fine. After hearing the Senior Prosecuting Officers Syed Jahangir Ahmad Rafiqi I/c CPO Anti-corruption Kashmir Srinagar and Syed Sareer Ahmad Andrabi, the Special Judge Anti-corruption Kashmir Srinagar found the accused guilty and awarded one year imprisonment and fine of Rs. 5000/ for the commission of offence under section 5(2) of J&K P.C Act to the accused. "He shall undergo six months imprisonment for commission of offence under section 161 RPC and both the sentences shall run concurrently," the court said adding, "accused was also ordered to undergo further imprisonment of three months in default of payment of fine." Later the accused was taken into custody on spot and sent to Central Jail Srinagar. As per case on 19/04/2005, a case FIR No. 10/2005 under section 5(2) J&K Prevention of Corruption Act and section 161RPC was registered against the accused in Police Station Vigilance Organization Kashmir on receipt of a written complaint from the complainant namely Mohammad Amin Misger, the then Sr Assistant Electric Commercial Division PDD Basant Bagh Srinagar. During the course of investigation the accused Account Officer, Mohammad Subhan Shah S/o late Gh. Mohammad Shah R/o Lar,Tehsil and District Ganderbal, was arrested by Vigilance Organization Kashmir on the same day while demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs. 1,000/- from the complainant Mohammad Amin Misger, the then Sr. Assistant Electric Commercial Division PDD Basant Bagh Srinagar.
