| BGSBU embarrassment: Scribes boycott VC- BGSBU's media interaction | | | Early Times Report
Rajouri, May 30: In a major embarrassment, the entire media fraternity in Rajouri boycotted the lunch-cum press conference organized by vice chancellor Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah in university campus on Saturday.
Sharing details, reporters from Rajouri said, with an attempt to clarify administration management's position about controversies appearing in media in regard to University, the V C BGSBU, Irshad Hamal and Registrar of the university Abdul Rashid Chowdhary had invited all the media persons on lunch on Saturday. However, entire media persons belonging to local and national media as well unanimously decided to boycott the lunch party organized by the university at the time when the university was surrounded with controversies.
Justifying their decision of not attending the university lunch, a senior member of Rajouri press council, said that it was an attempt to distract them. "We are surprised that how VC and registrar thought of the lunch party for media persons when the university was under severe pressures from all quarters for large scale corruption and embezzlement."
"When they (university management) came to know that no media person was attending their lunch, the university issued a press note on social media saying that the press conference has been cancelled due to the busy schedule of VC in a futile bid of 'face saving'. |
