Early Times Report JAMMU, June 11: Old Hospital Road Traders Association today organised a Langar in the old city bazaar, here. Senior BJP Leader Yudhvir Sethi attended the event and initiated the Langar. Dhamdeh is a local Dogra festival which is celebrated on the occasion on Ashadh Sankranti in the region. Chabeel and Langars are organised on the day. Prominent among those who attended the langar include, General Secretary, Old Hospital Road Traders Association Joginder Mahajan, Convenor, BJP Freedom Fighter and Martyr Cell Bharat Bhushan, S. Avtar Singh, Shiv Gupta, Kishore, Achint, Mango, Ashok Kumar and Aakash Sethi. Appreciating efforts of the Association for organising the Langar, Yudhvir said the festival is famous among the Dogra people and organising such events brings bonhomie among the society. He said local festival have special importance as they depict the rich culture of the region. He called upon people to mutually participate in celebrating festivals and rituals so that roots of harmony and brotherhood are further strengthened in the society. |
