BJP mantris beware! Party high command is watching you | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, June 11: BJP ministers in J&K are under a scanner from party high command in New Delhi as Prime Minister Narendra Modi has issued strict instructions to the party leadership to watch their performance. According to highly placed sources, Modi has informed the BJP leadership that the people of J&K trusted the party and voted enmass in favour of it, so it is the duty of the party to ensure that there is no breach in the trust. Modi, according to sources, has asked the senior BJP leadership to visit the state from time to time and seek a feedback on the functioning of the coalition government and performance of his party ministers. Modi said that for restoration of peace in the state and gaining confidence of the people of all three regions of the state, BJP ministers can play a crucial role by keeping a constant liason with people and work for their upliftment and betterment. Sources said the state government needs to adopt pro-people policies and work for creating a good public order in the state, besides taking stern action against the corrupt elements in the administration so that there is loud and clear message that coalition is for the welfare of people. The BJP leadership has been in unambiguous terms told by Modi that the ministers who fail to perform should be shown the door and replaced by those legislators who have shown a good track record during the six months and also performed a convincing role in the Assembly. Sources said Modi does not like that BJP's image as a disciplined and principled organization should get tarnished in J&K where people have many expectations from the party. Modi has made it clear to the party men that no corrupt people should be tolerated in the government and the people found in indulging in corrupt practices will be taken to task. He has asked the BJP leadership to see that the funds given by the Centre to the state are properly utilized for the public welfare. Modi has been informed by some partymen that one of the causes of alienation in Kashmir was that some few dynasties who remained in power for decades together amassed a huge wealth by looting public exchequer. If BJP can ensure the masses that it is totally against corruption and its main objective is that every penny received given by the Centre is spend on public welfare, it can improve the image of the party among masses not only in Jammu and Ladakh region but Kashmir Valley also, said the sources. |
