CAO Kathua attaches 5 VAEOs without seeking any explanation 6/11/2015 11:42:04 PM G S Asgotra Early Times Report Jammu, June 11: In a highly undemocratic manner, the Chief Agriculture Officer (CAO) Kathua Vipin Sambyal on Thursday attached five Village Agriculture Extension officers (VAEOs) in his office, without giving any explanation to them. Sources informed Early Times that without sending any written explanation or sending any communiqué, the incumbent AEO, Surinder Kapahi verbally informed attachment of five Village Agriculture Extension Officers (VAEOs). These VAEOs are Narian Singh, Narian Sharma Mukesh Kumar, Ram Paul and Anil Gupta. Sources further said that the verbal orders of attachment left VAEOs in complete disarray and when they asked Agriculture Extension Officer about the reason of their attachment, the latter failed to give any satisfactory reply. They further informed, "The bone of contention between Chief Agriculture Officer and village Agriculture Extension Officer was the alleged interference of VAEOs in the work of Junior Agriculture Extension Officers (JAEO)." "The newly regularized Junior Agriculture Extension Officer (JAEOs) of Zone Hiranagar were not cooperating with us during field functioning. When we asked them for cooperation, these JAEOs sent a letter to CAO, alleging that VAEOs are interfering with their work", sources said. "Rather than sorting out confrontation between the JAEO and VAEO and without listening to the grievances of VAEOs, the CAO Vipin Sambyal passed an order to his subordinate, AEO, Surinder Kapahi on phone to attach all the VAEOs in his office", sources said. When contacted to AEO, Surinder Kapahi said that on the directions of CAO, he had attached five village agriculture extension officers in CAO's office but it was not permanent attachment and these employees have been brought to office for feeding data entries.
