After Vigilance probe, DC Jammu seeks cancellation of the state subject of corporation's DGM | Yes, JKPCC's top babu got PRC illegally | | Sumit Sharma Early Times Report Jammu, June 11: Axe is likely to fall on a Deputy General Manager (DGM) of J&K Projects Construction Corporation (JKPCC) after a probe by Vigilance Organisation has established that he illegally procured the Permanent Resident Certificate (PRC). The Vigilance has now recommended to Deputy Commissioner Jammu to cancel the PRC of Suresh Rekhi. SSP Vigilance, Dr Koushal Sharma, told Early Times that he has recommended cancellation of Rekhi's state subject as it was found to have been procured through illegal means. "Two cases stand registered against him with the Vigilance, apart from a couple of complaints against JKPCC in which his role is being probed," Sharma said. Jammu's Deputy Commissioner Simrandeep Singh said that his office has written to the Divisional Commissioner Jammu for cancellation of Rekhi's PRC. The step was taken after proper verification by the Revenue department during which it was found that father of Suresh Rekhi originally hails from Jallandhar, Punjab. Sources said that besides his own, Rekhi has managed PRCs of his daughter and son. Interestingly, during investigation the Vigilance found that the daughter of Rekhi was in London on the day when she was shown present in the DC office Jammu and her statement was shown recorded by a revenue officer while processing her state subject file. Vigilance made recommendation against Rekhi when during investigation it got established that he was not a permanent resident of J&K and hence was not entitled to be conferred Permanent Resident status as per the provisions governing the subject in hand. Meanwhile, sources said that the PRCs of many other government officers who were also not state subjects have been recommended for cancellation. |
