KATHUA, June 11: A team of the legal Metrology Department Kathua headed by the Assistant controller Legal Metrology Kathua Ajay Kumar Verma and Inspector Kathua and Dayalachack. Vicky Sharma and Devi Lakhanpuria conducted intensive checking of various Business establishments especially Karayana shops, , Provisional Stores, Sweet Shops, Iron and steel Traders , Veg and Fruit Sellers, Ration Dealers, Bakery shops, Jewellers, Shops, Bar& Resturant Atta chacki, at Chann Arrorian, Dayalachack, Thanger, College Road Kathua , Barwal, Shastri Nagar, Main Bazar Kathua and adjoining Areas.
During Inspection establishments of various traders were inspected and 09 traders were booked for violation of various provisions of J&K Standard of Weights and Measures Enforcement ( Amendment) Act 2011 and Package Commodities Rules and and a penality of Rs14400 was imposed on the erring Traders during the month of June 2015
The Department directed all the traders to use only verified Weights and Measures for Business transactions and display MRP, PKD, Net Contents and complete address and Customer care Number on the Commodities to be sold in package Form.
The Department has also warned the unscrupulous traders to desist away from using unfair trade practices to cheat the innocent Consumers and also appealed to the Consumers to remain vigilant while purchasing the Commodities. |
