People resent use of sub-standard material to repair Suchara- Barighat road 6/11/2015 11:07:12 PM Early Times Report KATHUA, June 11: Raising their voice against the use of sub-standard material in the ongoing repair work on Mahanpur - Basohli and other adjoining roads to Basohli, the locals alleging negligence on part of the government staged series of 'anti- PWD and NABARD project scheme' protest demonstrations. The series of agitations got aggressive when NABARD started repair work on Suchara- Barighat 5 km long road as the people of the area alleged that poor quality of material is being used to repair the road stretch. They said that execution of repair work in such a manner is mere eyewash adding that use of sub-standard material is an insult to the efforts of the people as the work started only after several deputations and submissions of memorandum to politicians and bureaucrats. Tej Ram, a senior citizen hailing from Balighat, pointed out construction of 5 km road from Suchara to Balighat and said people raised demand for construction of road but their enthusiasm got faded up as Construction Company used sub standard concrete material and did just half inch blacktopping like other roads of Tehsil Basohli. The constructed roads have been washed out even unseasonal rains and their road will also damage like other washed roads.
