Police transfers in Kashmir, Jammu remains without DIG, SSP | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, June 11: While government today ordered transfers in police department in Kashmir, it showed no concern for Jammu which does not have permanent DIG, SSP and SP (south).Knowing that three posts of senior police officers including DIG Jammu- Kathua range, SSP Jammu and SP South Jammu are vacant as these posts are temporary filled up, the government is concentrating on Kashmir. The recent transfers, postings of senor police officers in Kashmir revealed that there is something wrong with the BJP-PDP coalition government as it is alleged to have shown no concern over the issue. When the tension erupted in Jammu on June 3, the post of DIG was lying vacant there. The government did not learn any lesion and now, there are three vacant posts. DIG traffic Ashkoor Ahmed Wani is temporarily looking after the affairs of DIG Jammu too. The job of SSP Jammu is being looked after by SP Rural Rajinder Pandy. Meanwhile, as per government order, Shailendra Kumar Mishra, Superintendent of Police (SP) Kargil, has been transferred and posted as SP Traffic Rural Kashmir. Rahul Malik (SP Kupwara) has been transferred and will take over as SP Kargil, an official spokesman said. Javid Ahmed Koul, SP Traffic Rural Kashmir, has been transferred and posted as SP Security, Kashmir, he said. |
