FORCE demonstrates against extension of B.ED/M.Ed Course duration | | | Early Times Report
kathua, July 2: Continuing its struggle against government's decision of extending academic duration of the B.Ed/M.Ed to two years, the Forum of Recognized Colleges (FORCE) held a protest under the leadership of its president and former Minister Harbans Singh in Kathua. The management and staff faculty of B Ed Colleges in Kathua also took active part in this protest and condemned the discriminatory attitude of state government.\ Addressing the protestors, Harbans Singh sought views of the members in order to devise the future course of action so as to press their demand for adopting a uniform policy of duration for the B.Ed/M.Ed courses both in Kashmir and Jammu Province including eligibility criteria and other norms laid down for these courses. R S Chib Patron FORCE condemned the discriminatory attitude of Government and said University of Jammu by adopting the recommendations of Justice Verma Commission for enhancing the duration of B Ed/M Ed courses from one year to two years and maintaining the status quo for these courses i,e one year duration in the colleges affiliated to Kashmir university. He also said the BJP & University authorities were to read the writings on the walls and the BJP would be directly responsible for the law and order problems in the Jammu province. Another member of FORCE & former Minister Gulchain Singh CharaK urged the members to unite on the issue irrespective to region for the future of students pursuing their studies. |
