SCC holds meet, announces governing council for next two years 7/3/2015 12:35:37 AM Early Times Report Jammu, July 2: A meeting of All Jammu and Kashmir Senior Citizen Council was held today under the chairmanship of its newly elected President K K Gandotra. During the meeting SardarManjit Singh General Secretary of the council welcomed all the members and gave description of the latest elections held and the new office bearers which included Sarla Kohli as Senior Vice President, Ravinder Kaur as vice president. The member of governing council for the next two years were also announced by the president during the meeting K K Gandotra highlighted the working of the council especially in running & maintaining a day care centre at Village Raika. A memorandum was prepared during the meeting highlighting the problems being faced by senior citizens & the demands to be put before the concerned authorities for redressal of the grievances of the senior citizens. The council intends to open more day care centres in near future for which areas will be identified for further progress within a months time & to reach any conclusion. The council also decided to increase the membership by special drive & also urge the government authorities for providing adequate & suitable space for an office & meeting hall for the operation of the council.
