Jammu July 03: Shastri Cricket Club today suffered second consecutive loss when they were beaten by J&K Police (JKP) XI by five wickets in the ongoing Monsoon Tri-Series Cricket League at GGM Science College Hostel ground, here. Earlier, batting first, Shastri Club scored 156 runs in the stipulated 35 overs. Avesh Sharma and Vishal Singh remained top scorers with 40 and 38 runs respectively. Arvind contributed 16 runs. From JKP XI, Bandeep Singh took most of the four wickets while skipper, Rajesh Gill bagged two and Ram Dayal one. In reply, JKP XI attained the goal of 157 runs in 28.4 overs losing their five wickets. Nipun Verma made highest 57 runs and Rajesh Gill contributed 29. Jatin and Bandeep added 24 and 20 runs respectively. For Shastri Club, Vishal Singh, Amit Sharma, Vicky and Arvind shared one wicket each. Bandeep Singh was adjudged man of the match. Today's match conducted by Suhail Yusuf and Sunny Gill as umpires while Vinod Kandayara was scorer. NEXT MATCH: JKP XI shall take on Simula XI tomorrow. |
