Powergrid felicitates ITI employees 7/3/2015 11:34:25 PM Early Times Report JAMMU, July 03: Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd, Northern Region-II , Jammu felicitated its employees who had contributed in restoring electricity supplies in Jammu and Kashmir provinces last yea subsequent to the floods that had disrupted the electric supply in these provinces. According to press release, the employees were felicitated by SK Sharma, Executive Director Powergrid, Northern Region -II in presence of senior officers of the corporation and employees. SK Sharma complimented the employees for their outstanding contribution during this natural calamity and advised them to be remained ready for any work that may arise in the service of the nation and society. He on this occasion reminded that the disruption of electricity in most of the areas of the state at that time was severe and for faster restoration, Ministry of Power had authorized POWERGRID as its nodal agency to assist J&K Power Dept for restoration of transmission lines and distribution system. Senior officials of POWERGRID had rushed to Srinagar and Jammu. Three transmission lines of 132 KV level in Jammu Region and one in Srinagar Region were restored by deploying Emergency Restoration Systems (ERS) by POWERGRID within a very short time. For distribution lines and substations restoration, teams of POWERGRID worked hand in hand with JKPDD. In Srinagar, POWERGRID deputed around 200 personnel alongwith adequate numbers of Oil Filtration Machines, Transformer Oil and other Testing and commissioning equipments to closely work with JK PDD.   Share This News with Your Friends on Social Network     Comment on this Story
