| BSF School students excel in chess, boxing | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, July 03: Two BSF School students, Arushi Kotwal and Aryaveer Singh excelled in chess and boxing respectively thereby brought laurels to the institutions. Both these students were appreciated an encouraged by the Principal of the school, Dr S S Khokhar in special assembly today. Upcoming chess player, Arushi claimed to have represented India in the Commonwealth Chess Championship held at New Delhi in under-12 girls' category. As per a handout issued by the school, she secured four and half points out of a total of eight rounds to finish eighth on the merit list. The handout also claimed that Arushi got first position in under-11 category in another event of Royal Chess Challenge held at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium New Delhi last month in addition to first position in women category in Horizon Open Chess Tournament held recently. Another young boy from the BSF School, Aryaveer Singh excelled in boxing winning gold in the inter district boxing championship held in Jammu in weight category 50-52. |
