7/17/2015 11:25:38 PM
Early Times Report
Jammu, July 17: Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed, by stating the objective of forming an alliance with the BJP, has not only allayed the fears that it's a Kashmir-centric government but also said what his predecessors, especially never said it publicly and categorically. Mufti by stating that he has dream of connecting the people of the Jammu and Kashmir regions and not just concentrate on Kashmir-Srinagar axis is clear manifestation of the programme that he intends to carry forward.
He has clearly stated by that his aim to bring together the two divergent regions in a manner that two divergent political parties had come to form the government.
Mufti had taken a calculated but a very high risk of aligning with the BJP at the fag end of his life. He has dreamt of the being remembered as a statesman and on a much higher pedestal than Sheikh Abdullah.
Sheikh had concentrated only on Kashmir and used Jammu as just a pushover, which explains why there was much hostility against it. Therefore, Sheikh is not held in the same esteem he was held earlier. Mufti didn't have to face the hostility of Jammu region, and even some people may still be apprehensive of the PDP towards Jammu but he still is regarded as the one above political considerations. Mufti has got the full support from the BJP central leadership as the BJP needs him also to get the acceptability in Kashmir. The CM has given them the chance and he is working in a manner that both the parties get positive reaction and response from the regions where there is till hostility towards than them.
