Prime Minister Atal Ji
Veteran Congress leader and former Sadr-e-Riyasat Dr Karan Singh twice referred to Prime Minister Narinder Modi as 'Atalji' during his address.
After realizing his mistake at the first instance, Dr Singh corrected himself and referred to PM with his name but before winding up his speech he once again expressed sincere thanks to 'Atalji' for attending the centenary celebrations of GL Dogra.
Mere Mitr Azad Sahib
Leader of the opposition in the Rajya Sabha Ghulam Nabi Azad has cultivated good friends in different political parties.
When Prime Minister Narendra Modi greeted various leaders who were sharing the dais with him he referred to Azad as 'mere mitr Azad sahib'. Later when Chief Minister Mufti Mohd Sayeed started speaking before paying glowing tributes to GL Dogra he too greeted Azad as mere Mitr Azad sahib. Every time senior political leaders were referring to him as 'mere mitr' (my friend), Azad was seen smiling.
Rana and Ajaatshatru
Sitting in the front row of General Zorawar Singh auditorium, BJP MLC Ajat Shatru Singh and NC MLA from Nagrotra DS Rana, who is also provincial President of National Conference presented a picture perfect frame of bonhomie. The two sat together and rubbed shoulders with each other and shared smiles and clap trap on several occasions. Before joining BJP Ajat Shatru represented NC in the Upper House and was close to Rana before he developed aspirations to contest the seat forcing the royal candidate to step out of the party.
DyCM cuts sorry figure
Deputy Chief Minister Dr Nirmal Singh had to cut a sorry figure on number of occasions as his staunch rival and MOS in the PMO Dr Jitendra Singh elbowed him out of the frame while lensmen were taking pictures. Soon after the arrival of Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the inauguration of Photo exhibition highlighting the life and times of GL Dogra and his political journey, Dr Jitendra Singh followed in the footsteps of Prime Minister and was seen matching steps with him. No where he gave an opportunity to Dr Nirmal Singh to cross the limit and come near Prime Minister for even get a photo opportunity. Sitting on the dais Dr Nirmal Singh faced another piquant situation when his name was not taken by the daughter of GL Dogra while reading out statement of vote of thanks. Dr Singh was also not given the opportunity to speak on the occasion. |
