Army, BSF asked to give effective response to Pak firing | | Jasbir Sarai | 7/17/2015 11:30:18 PM |
| Jammu, July 17 : Additional forces have been deployed along the LoC and the International Border in Jammu and Kashmir after Pakistani troops and the Rangers resorted to repeated ceasefire violations on the border during the last three days. Official sources said both Army and BSF have received instructions to retaliate with full force in case Pakistani forces repeated ceasefire violations. Sources said the Pakistani troops were trying to make up for the mistake Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif committed in Ufa (Russia) by not listing the Kashmir issue for discussion during the talks between India and Pakistan. Already separatist Syed Ali Shah Geelani has voiced his resentment against non-inclusion of Kashmir in the proposed talks by refusing to attend invitation from the Pakistan High Commissioner Abdul Basit on the eve of Eid. Hence the Pak troops have intensified firing on the Indian border outposts and villages in a bid to highlight the Kashmir issue on the international fora. However, India has made it clear to Pakistan that in the light of the present security scenario which had been rendered fluid by repeated ceasefire violations, holding of proposed talks may not be possible. Even if talks were resumed they may not prove result oriented.New Delhi has, while conveying its strong resentment against heavy ceasefire violations, told Islamabad that talks and terror cannot coexist. If Pakistan wanted bilateral talks to be resumed it has to first of all create a conducive atmosphere for motivating India to open the channels of dialogue. |
