| Jammu, July 17 : In a Public Interest Litigation filed by Viklang Chattra Trust regarding better care of old age home, a high court division bench of Justice Dhiraj Singh Thakur and Justice Janak Raj Kotwal today granted four weeks time to the state to file status report as per the earlier court directions. As per the earlier order, the bench had directed that respondents shall without any further delay take over land at Bhalwal and start construction of a composite home. In the meantime, land at Seri Khrud and Panjgrain, Nagrota shall not be put to any use or allowed to be encroached upon till a decision is taken regarding proposal initiated by Social Welfare Department for earmarking the land for Beggars' Home and such decision be taken within four weeks. The bench also directed that process for identifying the Beggars' Home at Srinagar and steps to expedite construction of composite home at Patalbagh, Pampore be also taken expeditiously. It also directed to file fresh status report indicating the steps taken and stage of construction of Composite Home and Beggars' Home at Jammu and Srinagar. |
