Jammu, July 17: Krishi Vigyan Kendra Jammu, SKUAST-J, celebrated the 87th ICAR foundation day, at RS Pura. According to press release, on the occasion, a programme on "KVK mandates and its functioning" was organized. The event was attended by Sarpanches, representatives of NGO and farmers from different village of RS Pura. At the outset, Dr. Rakesh Sharma, Sr. Scientist, KVK Jammu formally welcomed the farmers from different villages and urged the farmers to take up agriculture as an enterprise which is a need of an hour for the state. He further gave the insight of ICAR working system in India and history of establishment of KVKs. Prem Kumar, SMS, KVK Jammu advice the farmers to take up full advantage of KVK and also stressed to take benefit of various agricultural technologies by implementing them at their fields for increase production and productivity. Vijay Kumar, Secretary, All J&K Youth Club/Mahila Mandal Welfare association, Tejinder Kour of Ishar Kashyap Society, Swarn Lal, Sarpanch, Suchetgarh also spoke and appreciated the useful role played by KVK officials. A visit to different demonstration units of KVK Jammu was arranged for the farmers by S.P. Gupta, SMS and Horticulture. |
