Jammu, July17: The National Secular Forum (NSF) has sought action against the Sub Inspector of Excise Department whose name has surfaced in falsification as well as corruption cases. Addressing a press conference here today, NSF President Sukhdev Singh said "Case is making rounds in Kashmir's Shopian district wherein Javed Ahmed Shah, who after his birth, was adopted by an 8-year old child that fetched him a Govt job in 2006 under SRO-43, which is a clear cut case of falsification." "He was booked by Vigilance Organization Kashmir in connection with a case of misappropriation of official position and assets to his known income. In this connection an F.I.R no. 32/215 under section 5 (I) e R/W 5(2) J&K provocation of corruption act 2006 was lodged against him," he added. The NSF president alleged that some officials were helping the accused in the Excise department which would not be tolerated by their activists. "The said Sub- Inspector got government job under a fake SRO where the age gap of father and son is only 8 years. His appointment has been challenged in the High court also. Not only this, there are other FIRs in different cases lodged in various Police Stations. The Women Commission has also lodged FIR against the tainted Sub- Inspector in a Police Station of Srinagar," he informed. He further said that besides one more F.I.R no. 82/214 under section 66A IT at Police Station Nowabad Jammu stood registered against him. Two more cases are also pending against him in the Vigilance Organization Kashmir. The tainted Sub-Inspector is given prize posting also he was removed from lower Munda after 6 years vide order no. 41EK9-201," he added. The National Secular Forum asked the Excise Commissioner to immediately suspend the official as F.I.R has been registered by the Vigilance Organisation Kashmir. They said that attachment is not a proper punishment for such a crime. Therefore a thorough probe could be done that how the tainted official got government job and how he made assets to his name, otherwise National Secular Forum would launch a state vide agitation, he maintained. Among those who were present in the press-conference included, Qayoom Malik, Ajaz Shah and Reshikesh Rana. |
