JAMMU, Oct 11 : In order to improve revenue collection and to clear the outstanding arrers with the PDD and to provide services at the door steps of the public under Amnesty Scheme, a special drive has been launched by Executive Engineer, Electric M&RE Division III, Jammu, Sanjay Sharma by organising 22 camps today in rural as well as urban areas. The camps were organised at Akhnoor, Jourian, Marh, Domana, Bhalwal, Rehari and Talab Tillo areas for on spot assessment/calculation of the waive off amount (on account of surcharge) on the outstanding electricity charges under the Amnesty Scheme. These camps have been attended by public in large number. Nearly 1165 application forms for availing benefit under the scheme have been received in the camps against total outstanding arrears of 3.85 Crores. The applications received for availing amnesty scheme from rural areas outnumbered the applications in the urban areas. The amnesty scheme was launched by the State Government in public interest to make full and final settlement of their electricity bills as on 1/8/2015. Under the scheme, the arrears on account of interest/surcharge levied on pending payments shall be waived off in case the beneficiary deposits the balance billed electricity charges amount in maximum four equal installments before 3/2016. |
