Short ration supply to APLs triggers resentment in Kathua | | | Early Times Report Kathua, Oct 11: Senior Congress leader Naresh Sharma while lambasting the government Rations Distribution as per 2011 census policy framed by JK state coalition government wherein instead of 35 kg just 15 kg government ration will be supplied to 3 districts Jammu, Samba and Kathua today said that those who claimed for development and fight against unbiased attitude with Jammu Province are kept mum and just try to secure their assembly seat. Congress leader said as per 2011 census policy framed by JK state coalition government the people from APL (Above Poverty Line) are getting only 15 kg government ration instead of 35 kg in three districts viz. Jammu, Samba & Kathua whereas 35 kg ration will be continued in remaining 7 districts of Jammu, BPL people of Kathua and all districts in Kashmir which is sheer discrimination. "CAPD minister announced Ration Distribution as per 2011 census policy recently wherein he said Rationees would be provided ration on subsidized rates by the state government as per 2011 census till government of India released additional quota projected by J&K. JK government's decision brought series of protests and agitations against government in rural & Urban Kathua, he added. Congress leader Naresh also threatened to raise the issue at large scale and said people Above Poverty Line (APL) of Kathua district are deprived of sufficient ration supply according to 2011 census. Criticizing the BJP, Congress leader said that all assembly constituencies except Bishnah and Nagrota were won by BJP and the party MLAs instead of working for cause of people only secured their assembly seats. Congress leader demanded revocation of policy for the welfare of APLs and threatened to launch agitation against biased attitude of state government. |
