Govt will respond to High Court order on reservations: Zulfkar
Confederation of SC, ST, OBC Organizations seek Minister's intervention

SRINAGAR, Oct 11: Minister for Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution Department and Tribal Affairs, Choudhary Zulfkar Ali today said the government will respond appropriately to the judgment on reservation in promotions after going though the High Court order on the issue.
A deputation of All India Confederation of SC, ST, OBC Organization met Choudhary Zulfkar Ali at his official residence here and apprised him about striking down of Section 6 of J&K Reservation Act by the High Court. They sought the intervention of the Minister in safeguarding the interests of the down-trodden communities.
The Minister assured the deputation that the Government will take the legal recourse on the issue after going through the judgment.
Zulfkar said he will take up the matter with the Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed. He said reservations in jobs for backward communities plays important role in improving the condition of the people of these categories.
