| Villagers observe martyr’s day | | |  Early Times Report
Vijaypur, Oct 17: 12th martyr’s Day of Tara Chand Lakhotra (Sena Medal) was observed at his native village in Nand Pur today.
On the occasion, former Minister Surjeet Singh Slathia was the Chief Guest, while Romesh Lal Mottan, President Batwal Biradari was also present on the occasion.
They paid floral tributes to brave soldier, who scarified his life while defending Nation's integrity during operation Parakram on October 17, 2003. Speaking on this occasion, Slathia said that our real heroes have always played an important role in fighting militancy and maintaining peace in the State saying that the sacrifices of brave soldiers must always remain alive in our minds.
The family members of Tara Chand also paid rich tributes to the son of soil.
On the occasion, cultural programme depicting national songs was presented by students of the school. |
