Early Times Report
Jammu, Oct 17: The alleged case of harassment of a BSF jawan took a new turn today when the victim's wife alleged that a senior officer had tried to molest her.
Addressing media persons at press club here this afternoon, Sunita Devi, wife of BSF constable Naresh Kumar of 33 Bn, based in Akhnoor, alleged that the BSF officer could kill her husband, as he had been in quarter guard since Friday morning. "They are not allowing me to meet my husband who is being brutally beaten inside the quarter guard", she alleged.
She said that on Friday morning, Naresh was asked by the senior officer to report for duty. "As he reported, he was beaten by other cops on the direction of the officer and dragged to the quarter guard. He has received injuries but they are not allowing me to meet him", Sunita alleged.
She alleged that to shield the officer who had tried to molest her, BSF authorities were trying to implicate him in a false case.
She alleged that in last one year, more than four soldiers had been victimised by these officers and dismissed from services. She also named a CO, an Adjutant, a doctor and an SM as the main conspirators behind the entire episode.
It pertinent to mention here that constable Naresh was forcibly admitted to the Psychiatric Hospital here and administered heavy dose of medicine, but after media reporting, he was discharged on October 15 last.
When contacted, Commandant of 33 Bn of BSF, Sanjay Kumar Singh said he was not aware of anything. "I'm not serving here for media trial, it is all rubbish", he asserted and disconnected the call.
Police sources informed Early Times that Sunita this evening approached Akhnoor police, alleging that a BSF officer had tried to molest her. "Police are verifying the complaint as it is of very serious nature," sources said.
