Police officers divided over Inspector's posting
10/18/2015 12:20:20 AM

Early Times Report
Jammu, Oct 17: Two senior police officers in Jammu region are divided over the posting of an "influential" Inspector who was recently allotted Jammu range.
While one of the officers is in favour of posting him as SHO of Trikuta Nagar police station, the other is opposed to any such move and feels that he is not worth to be posted as the SHO of any police station in Jammu district.
According to police sources, this Inspector is very selective in deciding about which police station he wants to head. He has already refused to be posted as Gangyal police station SHO as he has already served as its head.
Instead of initiating a disciplinary action against him, the two officers are engaged in a tussle among themselves over his posting, sources said.
Sources said certain transfers were to be affected at the thana level but these had been delayed only because of the failure of the two officers to arrive at a consensus over the Inspector's posting.
The "influential" Inspector is one among the three Inspectors who were transferred to Jammu district in the recent past. One of them has already been posted as SHO of a police station in the city's periphery.
Apart from them, four more Inspectors, including Kulbir Choudhary and Anuroop, who was recently transferred from Lakhanpur to Jammu, are also awaiting their posting orders. All of them are at present attached with the District Police Lines here.
A reshuffle at the thana level was expected next week, sources said.
