'CS to convene high level meeting, 100 VIP vehicles to be arranged' | Admin gears up for PM's JK visit | | Ishtiyaq Ahmad
Early Times Report Srinagar, Oct 17: As the Prime Minister Narendra Modi is visiting Jammu and Kashmir on November 5 to inaugurate the second phase of the state's Baghliar power project, the State government here is gearing up to streamline the arrangements for this high profile visit. The Chief secretary B. R Sharma is convening the high level meeting in this regard with the officials of government, Police and intelligence agencies. " We have been told by the officials that high level meeting will be convened by the Chief Secretary in next two days regarding the Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit," a top government official told Early Times. He said that the high level meeting will be attended by various wings of forces, and senior officers of the government and police. "The meeting will discuss about the various steps to be taken to secure the visit of Prime Minister," sources said. They added that the Police will also present a detailed layout of security grid around the areas where the Prime Minister is visiting. Sources said that in this high level meeting directions will be passed to the officials of police, administration and intelligence to ensure the adequate security arrangements and all the protocols are followed during the Prime Minister's visit. Sources said that the Chief Secretary will also direct the officials to pay special attention to the design of the stage on which the Prime Minister, chief minister and other VVIPs will be seated. Meanwhile Director Director State Motar Grage Zakir Ahmad told Early Times that department is preparing around 100 VIP vehicles for the PM's visit. "We are preparing around 100 VVIP vehicles for this high profile visit," he said. Meanwhile Reliable sources said that the SPG team including a DIG rank officer will visit the state in the last week of October to finalize the security arrangements for the PM's visit. "SPG will visit the state to review the arrangements and will seek a detailed report on proposal of deployment of cops. Later the team will submit its report to the Prime Minister's Office," sources said. They said that this will be an early security review visit, which will be followed by other preparations in the first week of November. According to the sources, the inner-most ring of the security will be looked after by SPG personnel. According to the State government the Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Jammu and Kashmir on November 5 during which he will inaugurate the second phase of Baglihar power project. However one of the BJP minister wished not to be named said that the PM is also likely to lay foundation stone of Udampur-Banihal stretch as the government of India has allotted the contractors of this stretch. "The District administration of the Udampur has got a call from the PMO's office that Prime Minister is likely to lay foundation stone of ongoing Udampur Banihal stretch," the minister informed Early Times Sources said that the Prime Minister is also likely to visit Srinagar where he may announce the package for the victims of 2014 flood victims. |
