Headless I&C may get new Secretary | Cabinet likely to order transfer of SPs | | Ishtiyaq Ahmad ET Report SRINAGAR, Oct 17: The State Cabinet which is meeting here on Monday under the chairmanship of Chief Minister, Mufti Mohammad Sayeed, is to be expected to order transfers of District SPs besides clearing the routine administrative agenda. One of the senior Minister wished anonymity told Early Times that Cabinet meeting is scheduled on Monday morning. "The Cabinet is likely to order transfers and postings in the civil and especially in police administration," the Minister said. Sources said that the Government is also likely to appoint Secretary Industries and Commerce and besides it is going to change the District SPs. The meeting comes in the backdrop of State Cabinet failing to arrive at a consensus over the expected reshuffle in bureaucracy especially in police. During the last Cabinet meeting, the anticipated transfers in the Police Department couldn't be given a nod due to differences between the coalition partners over appointment on a prized police posting in the State. However the Minister claimed that there is not much pending administrative agenda in the PDP-BJP Government. According to sources, several proposals and postings of top administrative officers may come in the meeting and besides the fate of some top officials of the Government who were attached with the General Administration Department and are awaiting their postings from last two months may be discussed. Sources said that the Government has prepared a list of honest officers for their important assignments. "A list of civil officers to be transferred was being prepared by the Chief Secretary in consultation with the CM's Secretariat on Saturday," a source said. However sources said that the agenda of the meeting was not circulated, till late Saturday evening. |
