Bhaderwah Tourism festival to commence from Oct 22

BHADERWAH, Oct 17: While preparations are in full swing for the two-day annual Bhaderwah festival starting from Oct 22, the Bhaderwah Development Authority (BDA) organised a meeting of the all departments and officers at Dak Bunglow Bhaderwah today under the chairmanship of DDC Doda Bupinder Kumar. Chief Executive Officer BDA Balkrishan and SDM Bhaderwah Mohd Anwar Banday were also present on the occasion . DDC Doda Bupinder Kumar said tourism plays an important part in the economy. Keeping this in mind, Jammu and Kashmir Government is keen on exploring the tourism potential of the State and bringing more and more areas on the tourist map of the State and the Country. As part of these initiatives, State Government is focusing on the development of Bhaderwah, which is called "Chotta Kashmir" in a big way. Bupinder Kumar said massive tourism development in the area will not only give boost to economy of the area and State but will also help immensely in transforming socio economic condition of the people of the region by creating job opportunities for the unemployed youth. In this retrospective the Bhaderwah Tourism Cum Bhaderwah Festival 2015 Cultural Festival in Jammu and Kashmir has become an annual feature depicting the culture of Bhaderwah in particular and erstwhile District Doda in general tourism.
This two-day cultural festival, showcasing various tourist destinations in Bhaderwah town, will be inaugurated by CM on October 22.
DDC said during the festival, the main attractions of the celebration were Indian style Wrestling Competition, Volley Ball Match, Daku Dance, adventure sports, besides, other activities which were organized at Jai Tourist Resort, Bhaderwah.Bhadarwah offers to the tourists a variety of beautiful landscapes, colourful local fairs and unique mosaic culture, extremely soothing and pleasant summer, numerous spots of scenic splendor and snow winter.
He also directed to all departments to work with zeal and zest for successful Bhaderwah festival.
