Early Times Report

Jammu, Oct 17 : Flaying the harassment doled out to the youth in the sphere of employment by the State government, a contingent of Panthers Party activists led by Harsh Dev Singh Chairman JKNPP , Balwant Singh Mankotia, and Yashpal Kundal along with other leaders staged a massive protest demonstration in favour of regularization of their services at Exhibition Ground.
According to press release, lambasting the government's nonchalant attitude towards the SPO's working in Police Department, Singh revealed that the induction of Special Police Officers was an important adjunct to the security paraphernalia in the wake of proliferation of militancy in the State over last two decades.
He said that as many as 24870 SPOs across the state have been drawing a meager salary of Rs. 3000/- per month till date despite the tall pronouncements made by the Ministry of Home Affairs, GoI regarding the enhancement of their salaries to Rs.6000/- per month under the Security Related Expenditure (SRE) but still nothing has been done.
Expressing shock over the recent death of a young NYC (National Youth Corps) volunteer from Kishtwar Late Raj Kumar who was a part of the month long ongoing hunger strike in Srinagar, Balwant Singh Mankotia blamed the State Government for remaining a mute spectator over the plight of NYC volunteers and abetting the youth to take extreme steps.
Mankotia demanded an immediate implementation of their regularization order without any further delay.
Expressing deep anguish over the harassment perpetuated on the ReT (Rehbar-e-Taleem) teachers by the State Government, Yashpal Kundal recalled that the scheme was conceived and implemented all across the State by the Panthers party when they were in power.
He said that that the Govt.'s arbitrary decision to start the verification process of the degrees of ReT's had inflicted a blow on the pride and esteem of the teaching fraternity.
