| Pvt Tuitions: DEPO for action under norms to be initiated against erring lecturers | | | Early Times Report
Doda, Oct 17: In response to written complaint from parents and students of Doda town alleging government lecturers forcing the students to come for private tuitions to them, the District Education and Planning Officer (DEPO) Doda today said that strict action under norms shall be initiated against the erring lecturers and also owner of 'Shaheen Remedial coaching centre " located near JK Bank Nagri .
Parents and students have complained that one Tahir Ashraf Wani, Lecturer chemistry posted at Government HSS (Boys) Doda have created phobia among the students who go for private tuitions to other lecturers of the same faculty by giving them minimum marks in both external and internal practical exams i. e. 9-10 marks out of 20 Marks but on the other hand he gives 18 -19 marks out of 20 Marks to other students who get private tuitions from him.
In a complaint filed on 14/7/2015, the students have alleged that he is very biased and playing with the career of students who did not go to have private tuitions. In the said complaint lodged by parents and students of Doda, another Lecturer Sudhershan lecturer in Botany posted at GHSS girls Doda is also harassing the girl students by forcing them to take private tuitions from him and even had dared to threatened to fail them in practical and theory assignments.
Aggrieved parents and students have also alleged that besides government schools the students too are harassed in the Private HSS Public High School Doda which has set an illegal tuition centre in Nagri Doda. Sources said that taking cognizance Chief Education Officer (CEO) Doda had constituted a three member committee comprising of the then DEPO Doda , Principal HSS Mohalla and Principal HSS Mallanoo who had submitted their report to the Chief Education Officer Doda in this August but no action has been taken yet.
As per the sources, regarding both the lectures found involved in harassing the students, when contacted District Education and Planning Officer Doda said that strict action under norms shall be initiated against both the erring lecturers and also owner of 'Shaheen Remedial coaching centre " located near JK Bank Nagri .
Fareed Ahmed, President Doda Students Union demanded early intervention of Deputy Commissioner Doda and Chief Education Officer Doda to take stern action against culprits involved in such illegal activities. He demanded that till strict action will be taken to these government officials they should be completely banned from conducting any practical or theory exams.
Students also demanded personal intervention of Education Minister and a high level enquiry in the matter. |
