Exams at hand yet authorities fail to appoint required teaching faculty at GDC Budhal

Rajouri, Oct 17: Barely 40 days left for the final examinations but the Education Department and State Government have failed to provide required Associate /Assistant professors and lecturers at Budhal degree college till today. Till October ,12 only one permanent Associate Professor in Persian subject and principal were running the college affairs and no class in other subjects was conducted thus putting the future of more than 550 students in dark.
Pertinently expressing their concerns for the last many months students have been holding protest demonstrations against the Education Minister and State government but no permanent teachers were provided at this college which is running in six rooms of a Higher Secondary School as the college has also no independent building.
Lamenting State Government/ Education Minister Youth National Conference Block President, Budhal said here today said, "Out of 13 sanctioned posts of teachers 9 are lying vacant while three were filled in the second week of October on academic arrangement). "Local MLA who is also Minister for CA&PD and Tribal Affairs, and district administration too are responsible for the chaos, the locals alleged.
When contacted by Early Times, the Principal GDC Budhal YP Kundal, said that as the lecturers has approached the High Court in favor of their demands no teacher could be made available during present semester on Academic Arrangement and the sufferers were the student. "After relaxations by the High Court and on the directions of the State government in the first week of October three lecturers for Sociology, Political Science and Urdu subjects have joined the college on Academic Arrangements while three 'guest lecturers' are also coming for Mathematics, Arabic and History subjects, he added. "But we have no lecturers for EVS, Hindi, Computer and Education subjects and no class could be conducted for these subjects till today resulting in harassment among the students of these subjects" said Principal GDC Budhal .
He added immediately after today's protest demonstration by the students the matter has been taken up with the Nodal Principal at GMC College at Jammu where the counseling for the appointments of lecturers on Academic Arrangements is in progress.
"Seven lecturers have been appointed at this college as was informed by the Nodal Principal today, further adding, "if the lecturers failed to join at Budhal before 3 pm on Monday, I would left with no other option than to join them in their protest as only 40 days are left for final examinations."
Principal added that except one lecturer out of seven sent to Budhal college only one namely Ramnik Kour in Hindi subject has expressed her consent to join the duty. Meanwhile continuing to their protest against inadequate faculty, the students today took out a protest demonstration from College and also blocked the road near Budhal Police Station.
