JAMMU, Oct 20 : Young climber from the state, Mrityunjay Sharma, who excelled in the last year's National Sport Climbing Championship, has been selected by Indian Mountaineering Foundation (IMF), New Delhi, the apex body for adventure sports in India, for the selection camp for Indian team for the Asian Youth Championship to be held in Malaysia from December three to December six. Mrityunjay, a ninth standard student of Shangrilla Public School, Sarwal here, is among the 14 climbers, both boys and girls, selected by IMF for the selection camp from throughout the country. "Whereas six climbers have been invited from the South zone, three each have been selected from North and South zone and two from East Zone. Besides Mrityunjay, Adarsh and Luxmi Singh are the other climbers from the North Zone," informed general secretary of J&K Mountaineering Association, Ram Khajuria. |
