JAMMU, Oct 20: North Kashmir range DIG Gareeb Dass has been appointed as an observer of four assembly constituencies in Bihar. A union home ministry communiqué in this regard was received by the state home ministry in the recent past. Soon thereafter, the state home ministry issued order No 474 to send GD to Bihar. GD would be observer of four assembly constituencies, i.e; 199 to 202. The names of these constituencies are: Brahmpur, Buksar, Dumran and Rajpur. DIG Viplav Kumar has been given the additional charge of DIG, North Kashmir range, till GD returns. His job would be to check flow of illegal money and other inducements in the four constituencies. In Bihar, he would be first briefed about the protocols and election expenditure monitoring framework created by EC to ensure a level playing field during the polls. He would also be monitoring flying squads, static and video surveillance teams to not only monitor black money but also the production, distribution, sale and storage of liquor and other intoxicants during the poll period. He would also be required to bring under his watch instances of paid news. |
