| Minor raped by kin, accused held | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Oct 20: Jajjhar Kotli Police today claimed to have arrested the accused allegedly involved in raping his minor relative.
A case under relevant charges stands regiterted in this regard at concerned police station.
"The accused has been identified as Kapoor Raj son of Thodu Ram of Phallian Mandaal Satwari, police said.
Police said that family members of the victim were out of station and got stuck in heavy rain on Monday Kapoor Raj who was in the house of his relative raped his minor relative as she was alone in the house.
"After committing rape, Kapoor managed to flee from spot and when family members of the victim returned, she narrated the whole episode to them, said police quoting the complaint.
Police added that mother of the victim reported the matter to police and police got the girl medically examined at nearby health centre.
Accordingly a case was registered against the accused at Police Station Jajjhar Kotli.
Police said that the police acting swiftly swung into action and apprehended the accused while he was trying to flee to Jammu to evade his arrest.
Meanwhile Police added that further investigations are on in this connection. |
