CAPD books 38 defaulters, realizes fine to tune of Rs 35,7007 | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Oct 23: Following the directions of Minister for CAPD and Tribal Affairs Choudhary Zulfkar Ali, a team of department under the supervision of Director CAPD Jammu G S Chib, conducted 115 inspections/market checking of business establishments and booked 38 individuals while realizing a fine upto the tune of Rs 35,7007/- from the defaulters. According to official spokesperson, a team headed by Atam Dev Singh, Deputy Director (Supplies) Jammu alongwith Mumtaz Mirza Assistant Director, Raman Kumar, Yogesh Kumar, Subash Chabnder, Harpal Singh, Area Inspectors and Vishwa mitter Senior Assistant conducted 115 inspections/market checking of various business establishments in Baksht Nagar, Gura Bakshi Nagar, Sarwal, Talab Tillo, Canal Road, Rehari Colony, Gandhi Nagar, Shastri Nagar, Gangyal, Digiana localities and booked 38 defaulters while realizing a fine amounting to Rs 35,7007- on spot for violation of various provisions of Essential Commodities Act. “The fine was imposed for various violations like non-display of rate lists, over charging, use of domestic cylinders in place of for commercial purposes etc, he added. Spokesperson said that the teams also cautioned all commercial establishments to refrain from violating the provisions contained under Essential Commodities Act and (ECA) and exhorted them to adhere the norms as same is violative and warrants strict action. Meantime officials said if any consumer has any complaint he/she can register his/her complaint at helpline nos 1967 (Toll Free) and 0191-2502609 to register any sort of consumer grievances.
