Lack of Garbage Disposal irks residents of Peer Kho Mohalla | | | Early Times Reports
Jammu, Oct 23: The Resident Welfare Committee and Ancient Aap Shambu Mandir Committee of Peer Kho Mohalla today castigated the Jammu Municipal Corporation for its failure to provide full-fledged system of garbage disposal saying that the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan call given by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi to promote cleanliness has fallen on deaf ears. The Committee alleged that trash, rotten garbage, dead animals and huge piles of used polythene is lying around in front of the ancient Aap Shambu Temple in Peer Kho area which has created unhygienic environment having nuisance value for the residents and devotees who throng the temple in large numbers. The members of the Committee said that this issue has been raised a number of times with the concerned authorities, but no concrete steps have been taken so far to address this problem. They have demanded that the garbage disposal system should be upgraded otherwise the dumping site be shifted forthwith out of the populated area which is giving rise to the diseases in the area making it worthless to live. |
