Tension over ‘desecration’ of religious book defused in Bhaderwah | | | Early Times Report
Bhaderwah, Oct 23: Tension prevailing in Bhaderwah town of Doda district of Jammu and Kashmir over alleged desecration of a religious book defused by the police today. “We have registered a case against the company, who manufactured the crackers used during Dussehra celebrations in the town yesterday,” Nissar Ahmad, DIG Doda-Ramban told . He said the senior citizens of the area had a detailed meeting this afternoon and their demands have also been conceded. “A case has been registered against the manufacturers of crackers,” said the DIG, adding that shut down has been called off and shops closed by one of the communities, reopened thereafter. Meanwhile police sources said some of members of Muslim community yesterday raised objections over the writings found on the paper of crackers claiming that it contained versions of a religious book. “The matter is being investigated but the tension has been resolved in the area,” sources added
