Pakistani flags spotted in Hajin | | | Early Times Report Srinagar, Oct 23: A joint party from Indian Army and Jammu Kashmir Police came under heavy stone-pelting attack after they were busy in removing the couple of Pakistan flags that some youth had unfurled on top of electric poles in Hajin town of North Kashmir's Bandipora district on Friday. Eyewitnesses told that a couple of Pakistani green flags were spotted atop electric poles in Hajin town during the morning hours. Sensing trouble the shopkeepers didn't open up their shops while educational institutions also remained shut. In a bid to take down these flags, Army personnel from 13 RR along with a police team from Hajin police station arrived rushed to the spot. "As the Army and Police personnel were busy in removing the flags, scores of youth emerged from streets and targeted them with stones. The massive stone attack forced the government forces to Cont. on P11retreat from the area," said an eyewitness. However a police official told that the government forces after taking down the Pakistani flags left the spot without using force on the stone-pelters. "We exercised maximum restraint and didn't retaliate to their attack," he said. |
