srinagar, Oct 23:Reminding people on the eve of Ashura Muharram about the supreme sacrifices rendered by Hazrat Imam Hussain (AS) and his companions, Chief Minister, Mufti Mohammad Sayeed, Friday said that Karbala teaches us the lesson of upholding the principles of righteousness in all trying circumstances and denying forces of evil to make us bow or succumb before them.
In his message, Mufti Sayeed said Hazrat Imam Hussain (AS) and his companions symbolise the firm faith in the Almighty Allah, purity of thought and greatest degree of sacrifice to uphold truth and human dignity. "The unparalleled courage, sacrifice and patience exhibited by Hazrat Imam Hussain (AS) and his companions at Karbala was beacon of light for Muslims and would continue to enlighten and guide the whole of mankind forever," he added.
The Chief Minister said the very act of sacrifice teaches us steadfastness for supremacy of the truth and our unity would be the biggest tribute to Hazrat Imam Hussain (AS) and his companions.
